The things an operational excellence system has to do.
Six statements on each. You answer on one scale throughout, from rarely to embedded, and the assessment does not ask about software.
How quickly and reliably do you know what is happening?
Whether the measures are there when they are needed, come from the systems that hold them, and raise a deviation before somebody notices it in a meeting.
How effectively do problems and ideas become verified outcomes?
Whether problems get an owner and a method the size of the problem, whether closure needs evidence, and whether what you learned can be found again.
Does the management system drive decisions and action, or mainly collect and report?
Whether huddles decide things, whether the information is in front of them without preparation, and whether the day connects to the strategy.
How consistently are standards and critical processes executed, handed over and improved?
Whether the standard is clear at the point of work, handovers have owners and time limits, evidence is captured, and lessons go back into the procedure.
How consistently do leaders show the behaviours that sustain improvement?
Whether Gemba walks, one-to-ones and recognition happen to a standard, are followed through, and can be connected to how teams perform.
